As i had the opportunity to have my good friends here for a three dinner dishes we tried some good whisky brought to my house by the owner of this site

We tried 5 different whisky
Of the 5 expressions in this tasting, this is the most rounded and balanced whisky

On the nose, there’s lemon citrus, sweet peat, and smoke. The smoke isn’t all that strong, though.
This is a pleasant nose, and relatively “light” compared to Ardbeg, Laphroaig and Lagavulin.

On the palate, BANG…that peat and smoke come through much stronger. Then a wave of pepper takes hold. The pepper lingers into the finish, and the smoke keeps building into a strong coal smoke chimney coming up through the nostrils. Excellent and a new favour of mine

I tasted this with my friends this weekend. We usually meet up and have a great three course dinner. This was no exception. As the dinner started quite late this time we tried some new whiskies after the starter which was a chili salad! I wondered how this would end but the salad had a mild taste. We did a tasting of

* Caol Ila 12 YO
* Clynelish 14YO
* Talisker 10YO
* Dalmore Mackenzie 17YO
* Glenfiddish 12 YO

The tasting notes for the other whiskies can be found on the corresponding pages. This whisky was the second whisky we tasted.

Had a lot of smoke and vanilla.

Quite round, oily, burnt and smoke. Like the oilyness which creates a ‘wide’ taste.

The finish is long and smoky, I also tasted some rowanberry, anyone else tasted the same?

A whiskey that is a bit smoky, tarry, rich and oily. Yes, I like this sharp, but it is a bit short finish. Perfect after a good dinner. Strongly recommended.
