Wannborga Vin och Lamm

Övra Wannborga, an unspoilt medival village on Öland, is the place for many unique events. Here in the most northern wine region of the world a wine yard is established since 10 years. From the grapes growing there they produce both red and white wines and in the distillery they make different kind of brandies and Swedish snaps.

The wine yard and distillery are situated on a big farm with a lot of other activities as lamb production with it’s own butchery. Lamb delicatesses as salami, pates, dried and smoked ham etc can be tasted in the cosy restaurant together with wine.

The distillery is designed to preserve aroma and flavour of the Distillate. From the grape pulp they make a kind of grappa or marc and from some of the wine they produce a “cognac type” of Brandy. During year 2007 they have also started to produce single malt Whisky. Next project will be to make an apple brandy (calvados) with apples from the Royal Summer Palace of Solliden, situated about 10 km’s from the farm.
