The Tweeddale blend is an old brand last produced over 70 years ago and now resurrected by the great-grandson, Alasdair Day of the previous producer. The Tweeddale has a single malt content of 50%, with the other 50% being grain whisky and bottled at 46 and was a big hit at 2010′s Whisky Show. Each malt whisky in the blend is drawn from a single cask. The single grain whisky is 10 years old, the eight single malt whiskies range from 10 years old to 21 years old. It contains Scotch Whisky from the Lowlands, Highlands, Speyside and Islay. This is the 1st batch blended and bottled in May 2010 with 1252 bottles.

The dram has  a nose and palate a little heavy on the caramel, this is soft blend with background spice and fruit.

Soft and gentle, oily and some vanilla. Well balanced and a great whisky. Worth every penny.

I tasted this blended whisky with five other single malts which is kind of unfair. But I was still impressed by this little gem. This is how blended whisky should taste like. The Tweeddale Blend is a nicely balanced whisky. The colour has a bright golden colour and the first nose tells a story of toffee, honey and vanilla. The taste has malt, dried fruits, honey, vanilla and nuts. There might be some hay and grass! As stated, a great blended whisky that has a nice balance. If you have a chance to get one, you should. Too bad you can’t find this whisky in Sweden, if you want one, check either Master of Malt or The Whisky Exchange (links above) as this high quality whisky is really worth every penny.
